Peak Camping in Carmel Valley

One of our favorite properties was founded with the intention of getting back to our roots. Values like building from the ground up and offering a well-rounded experience never goes out of style. Especially when it comes to camping.

The Camp at Carmel Valley is camp the way you remember it. The property, originally founded as a campground for young girls to learn life skills and gain an appreciation for adventure, still holds those characteristics today. Except those girls aren’t so young anymore.

The Camp was repositioned for the old as well as the young. And maybe a little wild too. Continuing the tradition of hosting archery, swimming, hiking and crafting just like it featured almost a century ago, The Camp is a feel-good case study that everyone is still a kid at heart. And that a property can capture that pure emotion and nostalgia in the valley.

With such a strong identity and guest community, The Camp is a tangible example of hospitality living up to its goal: to be hospitable. So much so that even poems are written about it:

As I climb a mountain, swim the sea, gaze at the stars above,

I WONDER what life would be, if time would simply stand still

To CONNECT with nature, the sky above, the ground beneath, & the majestic old oak trees, & oh yes, even me

Will I seek TRUE companions in my friends, my family, my planet, my pets, my work, my journey...

“Please take my hand,” said the counselor & “let your laughter roar & childlike spirit soar, for it is time for PLAY and what will be, will be”

“While there is time, let’s go out & feel JOY, as we must live while we can, and not always according to plan”.
